Our Team

Peter is a Paediatric Rheumatologist and General Paediatrician with appointments at both the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital where he is the Head of Paediatric Rheumatology. Peter has private consulting rooms at Monash Children’s Private Clinic as well as at the Children’s Private Medical Group adjacent to the Royal Children’s Hospital. Every two months, Peter runs an outreach private clinic in Warragul.

Peter studied medicine at the University of Melbourne before training in Paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. Peter’s specialty Paediatric Rheumatology training started at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne before completing a Fellowship in Paediatric Rheumatology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

Peter holds an Adjunct Lecturer appointment at Monash University, teaching and lecturing undergraduate medical students. His teaching commitments also include education of postgraduate Rheumatology and Paediatric specialist trainees. He is actively involved in Rheumatology and Paediatric research at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital.

Peter has experience in the management of a wide range of Rheumatology issues. He has a particular interest in juvenile idiopathic arthritis, juvenile dermatomyositis, periodic fever syndromes and paediatric autoimmune disease such as vasculitis and SLE. He also has experience in managing a broad range of general paediatric issues including general medical, developmental and behavioural problems.

Outside of work, Peter loves spending time with his wife and 4 boys, watching their various sporting endeavours. He also loves plants and enjoys spending time in the garden.
