Dr Kirsten Furley
General Paediatrician
Kirsten is a Paediatrician dual trained in Community Child Health and General Paediatrics. She developed an interest in child behaviour and development through her undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences (major in Psychology) and has pursued research interests in child development with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder for which she was awarded an Advancement in Medicine Scholarship to complete her research. Kirsten remains involved with multi centre global research through Monash University and maintain a special interests in child development and behaviour.
Kirsten graduated from Medical school in the UK in 2006, and moved to Australia in 2009 to complete post graduate medical training. She has worked in many subspecialty and general paediatric positions in various parts of rural and metropolitan Australia. Sub-speciality training includes neonates and newborn follow up, oncology, endocrinology, emergency and forensic paediatrics.
As a mother of three young boys Kirsten recognises the pressures currently faced by children and parents and the influence this can have on family dynamics and behaviours. In any spare time Kirsten enjoys being outdoors keeping active with her family.
